Tui in the Blossoms

Description

Was out walking today and as I passed a small tree covered in pink blossoms, I noticed a shaking and a movement... aha, i thought. A blackbird.

But no! 'twas a tui!

Tui - Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae are the largest honeyeaters in New Zealand, are VERY distinctive, and have an amazing song (they mimic the bellbirds and throw in all kinds of croaks and trills), They're also intelligent,

Most interestingly, it's feeding from the pink blossoms of a decidedly nonnative plant.

What a beautiful capture!
You got so close to that tui. :wow:
There's tons around here, but I've yet to have a close encounter with one. I've always wanted to try and photograph one in a similar situation to what you've captured.

What tree is that?
